Rita Silva is a Portuguese composer currently studying at the Institute of Sonology in the Netherlands. She released ‘the inflationary epoch’ last year under the label of Colectivo Casa Amarela, and has now provided a first glimpse of her upcoming album with ‘apophenia,’ driven by a growing interest in the cognitive effects of sound.
Accompanied by modular synthesizers, her current research focuses on the exploration of recursive melodic patterns that immerse the listener in a state of absolute trance, where the boundaries between sound, space, and time intertwine in a psychoacoustic cosmos. Artists such as Caterina Barbieri and Jessica Ekomane also inhabit this realm.
