Still House Plants are a UK group made up of Jessica Hickie-Kallenbach, Finlay Clark, and David Kennedy.
Using a bare-bones, litecore set-up of guitar, drums and vocals they create sharp, fractured music with a melting pop heart. Pulling elements of sampling, slow core, and R&B, their songs break down and fuse back together at a lurch.
Their latest LP, Fast Edit, released on Blank Forms and Bison, is a brew of resurrected and embalmed recordings. Things sit on top of each other, fall over, or click into place, with hearts on sleeves and spirits in motion.
Notable performances include Empty Gallery (Hong Kong), Hyperlocal festival (with NTS/British Council, Buenos Aires), Soundtiago (Santiago), Salon de Normandy by The Community (Paris, as part of FIAC), and UH Fest (Budapest). 2021 will see them perform for the first time in the US (NYC/LA) as well as Japan (with 33-33/MODE and British Council) and at CANICAS festival (Oaxaca, Mexico).
Still House Plants have undertaken residencies at the CCA (Glasgow), The Pipe Factory (Glasgow), as well as a six-month placement at Cafe OTO as recipients of the OTO Projects UK Artists Residency Fund (supported by Jerwood Arts).
