Nguyễn Zen Mỹ is an Italo-Vietnamese artist based in Brussels.
She composes and questions language and its limits, notably through writing, publishing, singing and performing. She participates in numerous collective projects, both within the institution and at its margins, her personal approach increasingly taking the everyday and the biographical as a starting point for relationships through poetic, historical, social narratives. Trained as a classical pianist and with an initial background in art printing, she graduated from the University of the Arts London (MA CD Central Saint Martins) and the Royal Academy of the Hague (Type & Media Master) specializing in typography (visualizing language), type design and editorial practices.
As Radio Hito, she has quickly gained recognition in the last years through her minimalist yet powerful performances in festivals and venues all over Europe. Her last two albums are on Midi Fish and Kraak Records in Belgium. With her next album to be released by Maple Death Records & Meakusma, based on the book l’Usage et les attributs du cœur by French poet Claude Royet-Journoud, she continues to question the enigma and limits of language – both poetic and musical.
She is also a full Professor at the Academy of Arts in Strasbourg , France (HEAR Strasbourg) since 2012 where she co-founded the Graphic […] languages Master program and a common program with the University of the Arts Strasbourg. Since 2022 she is part of the historical French publishing house Editions Corti dedicated to poetry & literature and runs the poetic imprint & production label DSCRD.
