Gil Delindro is a multidisciplinary artist focused on the conflicting relation between ego, nature and technology. Through an extensive cross-border practice, tracing filmmaking, sound, installation, performance and theater, his work offers a detailed bridge between mediums and research perspectives, often facing concepts such as animism, time, memory, isolation, contamination and post digital conflicts.

Member of collectives such as Srosh ensemble, Sonóscopia (Porto) and Blind Signal (Berlin), his work has been presented in a extensive variety of locations, from several isolated rural and deserted areas to New York, Toronto, São Paulo and Europe extensively. A regular performer in Berlin’s echtzeitmusik scene, his work is mostly based upon field research in diverse isolated landscapes. Currently he’s one of the chosen artists taking part in the 3-month residency titled “The weight of Mountains” in the Sahara desert, which allows him to further dive into a carefully crafted symbiosis between landscape and sound processing.

Delindro works primarily with raw elements and analogue self-built processes, creating a very physical, direct and strong sound work that embraces both a concrete and unique imaginary land.

Among others he has collaborated with Raz Mesinai on Tzadik label release Tunnel Vision, the “Sculpture” project held by David Toop and Rie Nakajima in Serralves Musueum of comtemporary art, and Labels like Soopa, Voix Bruits, Audition Records, Marvellous Tone and A Giant Fern.

Past events

This artist participated in the SHAPE platform which concluded in 2022. The current version of the project is SHAPE+. Like its predecessor, it is co-funded by the European Union.
